Ruppell's Griffon Vulture is The Highest Flying bird in the world and one of the Most Deadliest and Endangered, King vultures !
  • Ruppell's vulture can be found throughout the Sahel region of central Africa.
  • It is a large vulture with a wingspan of 2.26 to 2.6 meters and weigh's from 6.4 to 9 kg.
  • Ruppell's vulture is the Highest flier ever recorded at an altitude of 37000 feet. That's the average height at which commercial airplane travels, and also the height at which a human will die due to lack of oxygen !

 Ruppell's Griffon vultures are named in honor of Eduard Ruppell, a 19th century German Explorer and a Naturalist.

Ruppell's vulture's current Population is about 30,000 which is decreasing due to the loss of habitat, and other factors making them endangered species.
