Nikola Tesla was born in Smiljen, Croatia on July 10,1856. Tesla was the fourth of five children, having three sisters and an older brother named Dane who was killed in a horse-riding accident when Tesla was aged five.

Nikola Tesla the great was born around midnight between July 9 and July 10, 1856, during a fierce lightning storm. According to legend in the family, midway through the birth, the midwife wrung his mother's hands and declared the lightning a bad omen and said that "This child will be the child of Darkness" to which his mother replied, "No he will be the child of Light !".

 In January 1900, Tesla conducted his brilliant Experiment in the Colorado Springs, claiming that he could Transmit Electric Power abundantly and cheaply anywhere on the planet.

Tesla's Experiment burned out the dynamo at El Paso Electricity Company and the entire city lost power. The Power Station Manager insisted Tesla pay for and repair the damage.
